In 2014, chef and entrepreneur Aaron Noveshen had a singular vision: reinvent the fast-casual chicken experience. Born from decades of culinary expertise and a deep love for bold flavors, Starbird chicken opened its first location at 1141 Triton Dr, Foster City, CA — and never looked back.

Chef Aaron Noveshen opens the flagship Starbird chicken at 1141 Triton Dr, Foster City, CA 94404. The concept: premium fast-casual chicken, made with real ingredients and served fast. The lines wrap around the block on opening day.
Riding overwhelming community support, Starbird chicken expanded across the greater Bay Area with three new locations. Our signature starbird chicken sandwiches and tenders became regional fan favorites.
We introduced the Starbirds Sauce Lab — a rotating lineup of house-made sauces developed by our culinary team. Customers could now mix, match, and customize their starbird experience like never before.
During unprecedented challenges, Starbird chicken pivoted to digital ordering and launched a community relief program — donating over 10,000 meals to healthcare workers and first responders across California.
Starbird chicken officially launched its franchise program, inviting passionate food entrepreneurs to bring the starbirds experience to new markets across the United States. The brand family continues to grow.
Starbird chicken crossed the 500,000 happy customers milestone. With 15+ locations and a thriving online ordering platform, the starbird brand is stronger and bolder than ever — and we're just getting started.
